Requirements for Admission into the Program
BS Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, BS Pharmacy, BSEd major
in Chemistry or any BS degree with the required pre-requisite
undergraduate courses in Inorganic, Organic, Analytical and
Physical Chemistry.
Description of the Program
The course requirement for the MS Chemistry program is divided
into required and elective courses. The required courses cover
Inorganic, Organic, Analytical and Physical Chemistry as well
as Biochemistry. The elective courses may be chosen from the
list of offerings for MS Biology, MS Physics and MS Mathematics
upon the consent of the Department Chairman/Dean.
Objectives of the Program

To enhance the professional competence
of graduate students rendering chemical services in the fields
of industry, education and government by providing them with
a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles of chemistry
and knowledge of the current advances in the field

To provide students with the theoretical
and experimental tools needed to enable them to design, conduct,
utilize relevant researches as well as critically evaluate
results

To improve teaching competence of Chemistry
teachers in the secondary and tertiary levels
